Bike magazine CYCLE-TRADE spoke to Electric Bike Corporation’s (EBC) very own Paul Stanforth to get some clarity on the new legislation introduced for e-bikes.

In January 2016 new legislation was brought in that sees power assisted bikes, trikes and scooters moved into a type approval category.

But Paul and Max Bikes PR’s Keith Jepson believe this move will be a positive one for the e-bike market.

In CYCLE-TRADE’s recent issue, Paul and Keith explained that there will be greater understanding of e-bikes in the UK market and this in turn will help bring more people into cycling and increase the choice available to people. Not only that, but the increasing popularity of e-bikes will help people make healthier and more cost-effective transport choices.

E-bikes are also becoming increasingly popular in traditional bike shops, not just specialist e-bike stores.
